Printing PDF Questions
How do I use the PDF files?
All printable digital files are provided as PDFs. You can download them to your computer and open PDF files using Adobe Reader, a free program you can download here.
How can I get the best print quality?
For best results, use quality paper and make sure you choose the appropriate settings from your printer. The paper type and quality can be chosen (such as High quality instead of standard). Your settings will affect how brilliant the colors look when printed. Some experimentation will also help you learn what is best for your home printer setup.
What kind of paper do you print on?
I normally use regular Fabriano brand white printer paper for all printouts. For greeting cards I use thicker cardstock, about 240 g/m2 weight for a sturdy folded card. For envelopes, I use a lighter weight paper around 140 g/m2 as it folds easier to create the envelope pocket. You can certainly experiment with different paper types and weights to find the combination you like the best.
Envelope and Card sizes aren't printing properly?
When printing the PDFs, be sure to choose the correct paper size (LETTER or A4) and choose “Actual Size” rather than fitting to page. Envelope and card sizes are designed to fit properly, but if you print at different percentages or proportions that will change the fit of the final printout.
